Q: When you say you "re-branded" software,
what do you mean?
A: Rebranding software is the process of removing
any identifying information from the software, such
as the program name, company name and graphics, and
completely replacing it with a different software
"identity". This means we can offer our
services to you for many thousands of dollars less
than it would cost to develop your own similar
software.
Q: Will your name appear anywhere in my branded
software?
A: Yes - but not in a highly visible place. A small copyright notice will be included at
the very end of the EULA within the Setup program.
You will, legally, be the owner of your branded
version of our software but we, here at Code-it
Software, Inc., retain ownership of the source code
and copyright.
Q: What's the deal with the "Ad
Browser" you can add to my software?
A: Our optional Banner Ad
feature (extra fee involved) will allow you to
display banner ads directly within your software.
You will have complete control over the banners that
are displayed, allowing you to sell the space to
advertisers or use it to promote your own products.
Q: But how will I control the
ads streaming into my "Ad Browser"?
A: You provide us with a link
(URL) to the ad page on your web site. We will
provide you with HTML code (and tips) that are used
to manage this ad web page. You can then use any
scripting language you want to rotate banners,
insert third party banners, randomly display
banners, etc. We'll help you with the "scripting
code" as well - if needed.
Q: What info do you need to customize my software
& what is the process?
A: We will need the following info to rebrand your
software;
** the software application to rebrand
** the name you want for your software as well as
the version number (i.e. My Audio Editor v1.9)
** the link (URL) to your help page on the iNet
(i.e. www.code-it.com/contact.htm)
** your company (or other) name you want include
on the "About" screen as well as any
graphical image you may also want displayed.
** the link (URL) to your home web page on the
iNet if you want to include on the About Screen
(i.e. www.code-it.com)
** we will need to know if you want a full and an
evaluation version (extra fee) and how many days to
allow the software to run in the evaluation mode.
** we will need to know if you want the "Ad
Browser" added to your software AND what page
to navigate it to (i.e. www.code-it.com/ads/ad1.htm)
** select (and tell us) what type EULA (End Users
Licensing Agreement) you want to include in your re-branded software
setup. Free EULA or
Restricted EULA. If you would prefer to craft your own - attach it to
the email (Code-it Software, Inc. will have to be mentioned as the
Developer and Copyright holder as in the samples).
** any MINOR changes to the software (i.e. skin
color, wording, color of buttons, etc..). We'll
strive to get it just right for your needs: these are
done at no charge UNLESS involves changes that
require more time then what we determine as
"minor".
** any other factor you need us to know to get it
right!
After receipt of this info - we will get back to
you with the link to download a "beta copy" of your software.
Please review and make SURE everything is correct. After acceptance (on
your part) pay (on-line) the one time re-branding/
licensing fee OR we'll wait for your check made out to Code-it Software,
Inc. - PO Box 171 - Midwest, WY 82643 if you prefer. BUT PLEASE - Don't
have us spend the time to develop the "beta
copy" of your project unless you are dead
serious about finalization!
After receipt of payment - we will get your finailized software complied, the setup created and a document created that gives you
license to re-distribute in any way you see fit (without further payment
of any kind). Please allow up to 72 hours (time
frame may vary due to work load at the time) to get you your software and
licensing doc/ EULA - available via download.
Q: Do I have to write my own End User License
Agreement (EULA)?
A: No. Once you customize your software's program
name, a default EULA will be created for you using
one of two (free or restricted type - your choice)
of our EULA template. You can edit it if you want,
or leave it as is.
Q: Do I have to write my own Help URL (web page)?
A: Yes. You are authorized to use any of the content
of our help file(s) or web content to help with this. User support/
help (of your branded software) is YOUR
responsibility: usually the software will have a
link to your on-line help/ support page on the
"About" screen of the software. We will of
course work with YOU on any issues, at no cost, but
will not interact with YOUR customers unless you
request us to do so.
Q: Once you have my customization information, how
long does it take to deliver my software?
A: In general, we will have all custom programming
and installers completed within 3 business days.
Q: How do you deliver the software when it is
completed?
A: As soon as the software is completed the
installers will be made available for download. You
will be notified as soon as it is ready.
Q: What is the difference between the Full and Demo
versions you can provide me with?
A: The demo version will be customized to expire
based on your choice of days. The Full version will
be completely functional.
Q: Why do you offer/ make two different programs
instead of one?
A: We do this for a number of reasons. The main
reason is that it is too easy to "crack"
programs that combine the Demo and Full versions in
one product. In addition, we do not want to restrict
you in any way. For example, if you decided that you
wanted to give your software away for free, it would
not make sense to force people that download your
software to register the demo version. In this
situation, you could just provide them with the full
version.
Q: Does the full version require a registration code
or come with a key generator (keygen)?
A: No.
Q: Do you host the software on your website?
A: Only until you have downloaded it. Afterwards,
you will need to host the software on your own
website. We generally remove your software from our
servers after a week to conserve space, but can
upload it again at any time if you need it.
Q: Can I use information from your website (or Help
files) to build my pages?
A: Yes, you are welcome to use any of the text on
our website on your own pages, as well as our
screenshots. However, we recommend taking your own
screenshots of the final product so that the images
include your program/company name.
Q: Do you write all your own software?
A: Yes. All of our software is developed from
scratch and is not available anywhere else.
Q: Is the source code included with my purchase.
A: No. That is why we are able to offer such
excellent prices. We retain the copyright on the
source code used to build your software, and
transfer full resell rights to you for the compiled
versions of the software.
Q: Can I purchase the source code for any of your
programs?
A: No. In order to protect our customer's
investments in our software, we have a very strict
policy about releasing the source code.
Q: Is there a cap on the number of times your
products can be purchased?
A: No. We believe in everyone getting their shot at
the "dream". Competition always makes
sense to offer customers choice.
However; one of our chief concerns is preventing our
software from saturating the internet, and keeping
the resale value high. To protect your investment,
we gradually raise the price of our software over
time, which has an effect that is similar to
limiting the number of copies available.

Refunds, Upgrades and Support
Because of the digital nature of our product we do
not provide refunds for re-branded software. Please
evaluate your finished product and address any
issues within 10 days..
Similarly, once we deliver your software we can no
longer change the program name, company name or
website associated with it (unless the name needs to
be changed due to a mistake in the program branding
on our part). This is necessary to prevent abuse of
our services. A new purchase will be required to
create a separate program with a different
name/company name/website.
In the event that you find a mistake in your
software, we will fix it immediately at no cost.
You are expected to provide support to your
customers, and we will provide support directly to
you. In extreme situations, at our discretion and
with your permission, we may contact your customers
to resolve particularly difficult support issues.
Third party Spyware programs
None of our software contains any spyware programs,
period!
Privacy Policy
We will never provide your information to any third
party without your permission unless it is required
to verify your ownership of a particular software
title. We do not collect credit card information.
All credit card transactions are handled through
Plimus.com using the highest level of encryption
available.
Software Suggestions/Custom Programming
We are always interested in hearing about products
that you would like to sell. We also provide custom
software development on a limited basis, adding
custom features or creating entirely new
applications.
